What Does ACA Accreditation Mean?
Every three to five years, R.M. Pyles Boys Camp hosts two American Camp Association standards visitors, who review everything from how staff interact with campers to the temperature of the water coming out of our faucets.
This peer-review process covers up to 300 individual standards spanning staff qualifications and training, health and safety practices, and emergency management. The American Camp Association develops these standards with input from pediatric and safety experts, so accredited camps reflect current, research-based best practices rather than just the minimum a state requires.
The review is voluntary. Pyles chooses to go through it because it keeps our team current on industry practice and holds us to a higher bar than state licensing alone requires.
