Summer 2027: learn how selection and registration work. Start with the family guide
Our program

A ladder of growth that builds every year.

Pyles is designed as a multi-year journey. Each step adds more challenge, more responsibility, and more opportunity to lead.

The growth ladder

Six stages, one path.

Each year adds more challenge, more trust, and more responsibility: the destination isn't a badge, it's the ability to lead.

1
First year

Camper

Outdoor activities, confidence building, teamwork, and a five-day wilderness trip in the Golden Trout Wilderness.

2
Second year

Lioneers

Returning campers deepen their leadership, teamwork, responsibility, and wilderness experience around Lion Meadows.

3
Third year

Voyagers

The final camper year emphasizes role modeling, service, leadership, work ethic, and preparation for staff pathways.

4
Fourth year

Trailblazers

Participants serve camp while building communication, financial literacy, organization, coping skills, education, and career readiness.

5
Fifth year

PLT

Pyles Leadership Training covers first aid, Leave No Trace, outdoor living, conflict resolution, behavior management, communication, and camp culture.

Counselors

More than 90% of counselors came through the Pyles program and return to guide the next generation.

Year-round outreach

Camp ends. The relationship does not.

Pyles uses reunions, field trips, community meetings, personal check-ins, and ongoing staff support to reinforce the habits and lessons learned during summer.

The goal is simple: help participants carry confidence, responsibility, positive decision-making, and the Pyles community back into school, home, and everyday life.

Support continues through the year, not only during camp.
The camp experience

Challenge comes in many forms.

Backpacking, hiking, outdoor living, nature exploration, stargazing, and time in the Golden Trout Wilderness.

Skill & adventure

Horseback riding, archery, ropes and challenge-course activities, fitness, sports, fishing, and campcraft.
