Many of our alumni and friends are stalwart volunteers, showing up for work parties, helping out at events, or working for a session – or two - at camp. Others are passionate advocates, serving as selectors, writing op-eds for local papers, available to write a letter of support or make an introduction. Some also support Pyles financially, giving monthly, or supporting Pyles during online giving days like Give Big Kern or with a year-end gift.
Leveraging corporate gift programs is another important way to help. Pyles was delighted to hear recently from “Voltage,” Johnson Mac, a first-year camper in 2002 who wrote, “I owe a lot of who I am to this wonderful place…”
A graduate of UC Riverside, Voltage now works as a systems engineer with Hyundai Motor America. Voltage’s nomination of Pyles Camp through Hyundai’s Employee Engagement Fund resulted in a corporate gift of $2,000. Thank you, Voltage, and thank you, Hyundai!
We are profoundly grateful to all our alumni and friends who continue to be involved and committed to Pyles. Because of you, the next generation has the opportunity to experience Pyles and accept The Challenge.
