Parents and Campers
Your son is in for what could be the best two weeks of his life. He will be placed in a group of 6 or 7 other boys his age and cared for by our counselors. We have a full range of activities including sports, horseback riding, archery, crafts, nature, fishing, ropes/initiative course, and a fabulous five-day backpack trip into the spectacular Golden Trout Wilderness area. Going to camp is an exciting opportunity to have fun, meet new people, engage in exciting activities, push yourself to your limits, and discover new things about yourself. It's an experience that you will cherish forever and never forget.
Join in on the adventure and you'll be amazed at what you can achieve. In less than two weeks, you'll be a transformed person once you return home.
Parents
The R.M. Pyles Boys Camp operates in partnership with Sequoia National Forest on a non-discriminatory basis. Pyles Boys Camp is situated at an elevation of 5,500 feet, close to the Giant Sequoia National Monument. It is about 60 miles away from Porterville and approximately 100 miles to the northeast of Bakersfield. It's important to note that our camp does not charge any fees for attendance.
After you finish your son’s camp application, we will send you the necessary forms to fill out, including a health form that requires a physician's signature. As your camp date draws near, we'll send you a confirmation and also furnish you with transportation and clothing details.
*Campers must be referred by one of our many selection agencies. If you are interested in signing up a child, and have not been referred, please call our office at 661-294-1394, ext. 1 for information on how to sign up.
