On Thursday, October 27, 2022, R.M. Pyles Boys Camp was inducted as a Member Camp of WAIC (Western Association of Independent Camps).
Pyles became involved with WAIC as a Guest Affiliate in 2020. Pyles Camp’s Executive Director, Adam Bell, said, “Participating in WAIC has made Pyles a better camp, has elevated our team, and ultimately benefits our campers. The resources, expertise, and camaraderie shared during the last 2 years has been invaluable to navigating the ever-changing pandemic landscape. The camps and camp professionals involved with WAIC are truly world-class and we are honored to be involved with them. I am so proud that Pyles was inducted as a full member and we look forward to continued participation in the years ahead.”
From the WAIC website:
The WAIC mission is To inspire and support camp professionals by providing a dynamic community for excellence through education, inclusivity, and collaboration.
The Western Association of Independent Camps (WAIC) is an organization of summer camps with owners and directors dedicated to operating excellent youth programs across the county. Although the resident, day, and travel programs differ in length of stay, activities offered, and location, each camp offers wonderful experiences and life-long memories for campers.
In addition to being a member camp with WAIC, Pyles Camp is also accredited by the American Camp Association. You can read more about that here.
