A message to our community

R.M. Pyles Boys Camp believes in a racially just society and that human rights should be equal for all. While we strive to achieve this idyllic atmosphere during our camp programs, achieving this same progress in society is more challenging. We stand in support with those of you who are working constructively to make positive changes in your communities and oppose racial injustices.

If I were to remain silent, I'd be guilty of complicity."  - Albert Einstein

For too long, we have remained silent. For too long, we have let the systems of oppression go unchallenged. For too long, we have let racism pass. Today, we must end our silence. We must end our silence, and speak for those who were silenced. We must end our silence for George Floyd, for Breonna Taylor, for Ahmaud Arbery, for our fellow Black Americans.

Black Lives Matter.

For 70 years, we have asked each camper to accept challenges, to work together, to be better. Today we accept the challenge to be better. Today we ask our society to work together to be better. Today we ask you, be better. Speak out with love against hate. Act with peace against violence. Challenge bigotry when you are confronted with it.

We look forward to standing with our community partners to build a better tomorrow.

With love,

The R.M. Pyles Boys Camp Staff
